Overview:
A well specified and striking looking ‘GEN 2’ AK 427 finished in the stunning Ferrari Le Mans Blue with Cream stripes and an outer pin stripe. The interior is the upgraded ‘deluxe Alex Moorhead leather’ in Toffee with dark blue piping and stitching with a leathered rear bulkhead and contrasting ‘Jaguar quality blue carpet’.
Full wet weather gear comprising of a mohair hood with side screens and a tonneau cover.
It has covered a healthy milage of just under 21,000 miles, both in the UK and on plentiful European tours. I can say with great experience that for reliability Cobra’s like to be used rather than seeing the road for a few hundred miles a year and stood up for the rest!
I have had the pleasure of selling over 150 Cobra recreations over the last couple of years during my time with the UK’s largest specialist and the pick of the bunch for me was always an LS3 powered AK. The brilliant chassis, big brakes’, hydraulic clutch and adjustable power steering makes it much easier to live with.
After a brief spell in storage it has been back to AK for a service and maintenance work, subjected to a thorough mechanical inspection, a fresh MOT, and has 4x new Continental tyres fitted.
Engine & Drivetrain:
Powered by a modern aluminum 6.2 litre Chevy LS3 V8 that offers circa 430bhp and 425 lb/ft of torque. The LS3 is a great powerplant for a Cobra, it’s ECU controlled, lightweight (compared to old school iron block V8’s!) and more efficient thanks to it’s fuel injection, modern seals/gaskets it provides a less ‘hands on’ ownership experience. It has a hydraulically operated clutch so isn’t heavy to operate and has a smooth and strong Tremec 5 speed gearbox.
The second generation chassis is lighter and stiffer than before and uses more modern Jaguar running gear.
It has the upgraded 3 core aluminum radiator, stainless steel header tank & screenwash reservoir, silicone hoses throughout and a full stainless steel lined engine bay.
The suspension is fully adjustable Spax coilovers, the brakes are upgraded to the XJ40 17” option.
The wheels are 17” Image CHB Hallibrand replicas, they have a spinner centre plate which hides the wheel bolts giving a look very close to genuine knock ons.

The cherished plate comes with the car, but can be retained at your request and there is a set of plastic reflective number plates in the boot for everyday or MOT day!
